PFWM AW19: Cerruti 1881

FOR its Winter 2019 collection, Cerruti 1881 hailed its characteristically Italian style, with an abundance of refined and understated tailored pieces. From pin-stripes to checks, Cerruti played with prints while keeping it simple and relatively monochrome in its range of colour palette.

Incredibly chic and refined, Cerruti proved that the brand is on top of street-wear with its diverse range of wearable designs. Unpretentious and laid-back, the designs also carried off its distinct simplicity without feeling dull or restrained. Perhaps the most exciting part of the collection was its range of coats, which experimented with different silhouettes and textures, and demonstrated Cerruti’s expertise in outer-wear.

Incorporating the best of both formal-wear and casual-wear, each look was distinctively chic, cool and incredibly trend-driven. Uncomplicated, but in no way at all dressed down, the collection featured ‘70s inspired pieces, particularly through its denim looks, but remained fresh and contemporary in style.
