Glass tries the Pumpkin Spiked Latte at Bart’s Speakeasy on Sloane Avenue

HIDDEN somewhere secret in a little nook on Sloane Avenue, Bart’s Speakeasy is waiting to whisk you away to 1920s prohibition-era Chicago. An exclusive late-night bar perfectly suited for any cocktail fanatic, the eclectic menu isn’t limited to your standard mojitos and strawberry daiquiris, but a diverse range of exciting and daring drinks to razzle-dazzle you.

The bar has a drink to satisfy every thirsty patron. Renowned for its instagram-worthy choice of cocktails, Bart’s goes above and beyond with presentation, even serving shots in teacups. As in style of an authentic speakeasy, you’ll need the password to enter its secret location, transporting this corner of chic South Kensington to the Jazz age.

As part of its winter menu, Bart’s has created the Pumpkin Spiked Latte, the first alcoholic beverage of its sort available in London. Served in a tall latte glass alongside a shortbread biscuit, the presentation matches that of any artisan coffee shop you’d find around Kensington, but, of course, it’s much more naughty and decadent. An exciting infusion of Grey Goose vodka, Bart’s own mix of herbs and spices, Tia Maria coffee liqueur, double cream and pumpkin foam, the latte is everything a good PSL should be, creamy, rich, and smooth, but with an extra added kick to keep you warm these winter months.

Although you may be attempted to down the cocktail in one, much like your own morning coffee, it’s one drink that should be sipped and savoured slowly as to fully experience the carefully crafted layers of flavour. Perhaps the most delicious part of the cocktail is the pumpkin foam that tops it, which I, as an avid pumpkin enthusiast, could very easily eat alone by the spoonful. A perfect drink for the winter season, the cocktail is the bees-knees for any pumpkin spice addict.
