The Return by Karl Lagerfeld

Among his many talents, Karl Lagerfeld has proved himself quite the director behind the film camera. The Chanel designer has turned his hand to creating various mini-movies for the French fashion house.

Written and directed entirely by Lagerfeld, The Return will premiere in Dallas on Tuesday 10th December ahead of the Paris-Dallas 2013/14 Métiers d’Art show taking place in Dallas Fair Park, an historical exhibition venue with art deco architecture, situated in the heart of the city.

Following the short film Once Upon a Time…, which debuted last May in Singapore, sees Keira Knightley as a young Gabrielle Chanel in which Lagerfeld explored Gabrielle Chanel’s early days in Deauville. This new film The Return retraces her steps as she re-opens her couture house in 1954 – a new collection that shakes up the codes of fashion and defines Chanel’s style forever.

In December 1953, Coco Chanel began her incredible return to center stage. The designer reopens her Haute Couture house after fifteen years of absence. The collection is welcomed by the French press with an icy silence. Only the American media supports the looks that define the rebirth of Chanel’s style. The Return retraces this determining period, that shaped the legend of the designer of rue Cambon forever.

The Return features Geraldine Chaplin in the role of Gabrielle Chanel alongside Rupert Everett, Anna Mouglalis, Lady Amanda Harlech, Arielle Dombasle and Kati Nescher as well as Vincent Darré and Sam McKnight.

The Return will be shown in Dallas on December 10, 2013 at 6.30pm local time and broadcasted simultaneously on Chanel
