The House of Karl Lagerfeld presents a Tribute to Karl

TO CELEBRATE the late creative director’s legacy, the House of Karl Lagerfeld presents A Tribute to Karl: The White Shirt Project. The white shirt was Lagerfeld’s favourite wardrobe staple, as he famously said, “If you ask me what I’d most like to have invented in fashion, I’d say the white shirt. For me, the white shirt is the basis of everything. Everything else comes after.”

As a basis for the tribute, the Maison Lagerfeld reached out to various artists, actors, models, designers and friends, asking them to create their own version of Lagerfeld’s classic white shirt. Seven of the final designs will be replicated seventy-seven times to be sold for charity at 777 € per shirt. The recurring seven is yet another tribute to Lagerfeld, as it was his favourite number.

Curated by Creative Visionary and long time friend of the director, Carine Roitfeld, the tribute is a global project, with proceeds of donated to Sauver la Vie, a French charity funding medical research at the Paris Descartes University.
