THE Guggenheim Museum Bilbao presents a new exhibition opening this September, Lee Krasner. Living colour. A retrospective of the New York artist and seminal pioneer of Abstract Expressionism. Collating a wide range of pieces, some of which never shown before in Europe – the exhibition navigates Krasner’s process of constant reinvention over her 50-year career.

Traversing Krasner’s early self-portraits and life drawings to her monumental works from the 1960’s. Her rejection of the common idea of a signature image to define an artist is explored in the diversity of her styles and subjects which range in colours and tone.
