Glass achieves the ultimate summer glow with Surratt Beauty

SURRATT is the beauty brand that blends Japanese innovation with New York artistry. Co-founded by make-up artist Troy Surratt, whose clients include Adele and Charlize Theron, and fashion entrepreneur Heleyne Mishan-Tamir, Surratt is most known for their best-selling customisable palettes and cult products including the Surreal Skin Foundation Wand.

Always looking to innovate the beauty industry, Surratt has recently added two new products to their shelves, the Dew Drop Foundation and Torche Lumiére Highlighter. As a new-comer to the luxury cosmetics brand myself, I was eager to put these to the test, and see how they perform to create my makeup base. Always struggling to achieve the ever-so-popular ‘glass skin’ beauty trend, I was especially intrigued after scrolling through Surratt’s Instagram page, which was abundant with fresh glowy faces.

Surratt Dew Drop Foundation, shade Very Fair/Yellow

I first tried out the Dew Drop Foundation, using the shade Very Fair/Yellow. Side note, one of the most impressive parts of the collection is its wide shade-range, coming in a diverse selection of 20 shades. Another stand-out feature of the foundation is its unique dropper bottle, allowing for easy control with little product waste.

With my first swatch I picked up on its smooth and light-weight formula, with light-medium coverage – which is my preference. The foundation gives an ultra-desirable second-skin effect – something which has made it a favourite among make-up artists. As someone who is obsessed with runway and editorial beauty trends, I was immediately impressed by its soft dewy, almost light-reflecting effects, that work to create that no-makeup makeup look.

In terms of wear, I was also impressed, however I would recommend wearing an additional primer if you are interested in 10+ hour wear. By far the best thing about this foundation is its hydrating formula, which left my skin feeling soft and velvety-smooth.

Surratt Torche Lumière, D’or

The Torche Lumiére Highlighter was another yes for me. Inspired by the twinkling jewels in the vitrines of the Place Vendome, I picked up the shade D’or – a deep champagne gold. Made with genuine diamond and gold dust, this is definitely a product that exudes luxury. The formula is also infused with light-reflecting micro-pearls, giving that super-reflective glow. Creating a wonderful sun-kissed effect, minus the harmful UV-rays, this is a highlighter that I want to reach for on the everyday.

I recommend blending onto the high-points of the face – cheekbones, brow-bone, nose-bone, chin, and just a touch on the forehead. This gives a super radiant summer glow, and melts perfectly into the Dew Drop Foundation base.
