PFW AW22: AMI

AMI UNVEILED an exciting collection at Paris Fashion Week AW22 after a two-year intermission. The collection was presented at Palais Brongniart, the former headquarters of the Bourse, the French stock exchange.

Models sauntered down the runway underneath the high arches and large windows sporting effortlessly glamorous outfits that echoed the core aesthetic of the house – in which the marriage of Parisian chic and party glam is prominent.

Womenswear and menswear were present in the collection. A male model wore a neon, key lime pie green blazer paired over a see-through animal print button up. Faux fur accessories and outerwear details, as well as neon-hued staples, populated the collection.

Chic slip-dresses of various lengths adorned female models and the dresses were often layered with oversized outerwear culminating in a rich display of silhouettes. The collection is eclectic and playful, featuring fur-lined Canadian tuxedos and silver sequin blouses. And combined with the collaboration with jeweller Alan Crocetti, whose design revisits the house’s symbolic Ami de Cœur, the outcome is a radiant display of contemporary allure accentuated with a celebration of heritage.

Ami explains that the Fall-Winter 22 show concept “revolves around the métro, an omnipresent urban reference, a public space where everyone mixes and blends, without discrimination. It parallels a collection anchored in the Parisian universe, whose essence runs deep in AMI’s DNA and aesthetics.”

The presentation and the collection showcase AMI’s joyful approach to fashion and admiration of the Parisian spirit.
