One by Penfolds, the name of the collaboration, aims to effortlessly combine the intricacies of the wine world with the ever-expanding, dynamic nature of the fashion industry.
Having first been unveiled at an event in Hong Kong in July earlier this year, the One by Penfolds wines and apparel sold out after a mere 90 minutes. The highly in-demand collaboration is set to be an immediate success upon arriving in the UK.
Nigo, having founded his own streetwear brand – Human Made – in 2010, decorated the labels of the wines with uniquely designed animal motifs.
The delectable wines derive from four different countries – Australia, France, the USA and China – in turn, Nigo has adorned the labels with a crocodile, a rooster, a bear and a panda in homage to the wine’s separate terroir.
Neil MacDonald, Selfridges wine buyer says: “We’re delighted to be the exclusive stockist of One by Penfolds, bringing one of the most admired names in wine together with one of the most iconic streetwear designs. Not only are the wines in the range fantastic quality and ideal for enjoying now, but with the Nigo design, the bottles are also great for gifting and could become something of a collectible”.
With such reputable names coming together for the collaboration, Selfridges is expecting the One by Penfolds range to be incredibly sought after.
The wines will be landing in Selfridges UK from the 4th of September and will be a trailblazer for future possible collaborations between the fashion and wine worlds.
