Zac Posen laid out his signature full force female gala at NYFW this AW season with garments befitted for the modern diva. Naomi Campbell was the show’s final showpiece after all, which generally says it all. The suits were fitted with mink for starters and all in a melange of toasty crimsons and burgundy, hues that Posen feels safe with.
Moving on, NY’s ball gown kingpin kept things streamlined and flowing downwards but fitted in all the right areas. A golden caramel ensemble complete with a snuggly mink sweater carried this off with modern marvel. The following flurry of gowns that capped off the show where delightful but not Posen’s best, falling a little flat in comparison to his usual Met Gala fit creations.
Even though the awards season set might not be donning as many of this season’s daring designs as usual, AW was a step in an interesting new direction for Posen. We are keeping our eyes peeled at Glass for what the designer intends on pursuing in the future because undoubtedly he is still one of NY’s sparks burning brightest.
