AW has seen Caroline Herrera respond to nature once again this season in a wise choice of style stimuli. Aqua accordingly Herrera’s strength lied in the grace of zen-like waterways inspired optically stunning prints and slips of contrasting fabrics on demure dresses.

Modern silhouettes made curves a little boxier than usual but kept the designer’s eye for good fashion sharp and composed of a number of rich fabrics just couldn’t be faulted. Some intense reds didn’t interfere with the cool factor of the rest of the collection but took on a life of their own, like undersea crustaceans, especially those cut from exotic reptile skins.

The seven seas and all that inhabits what lies beneath clearly inspired Herrera’s penchant for gushing ripples of silk, organza and other trickling embellishments.
