Milan Menswear SS16: Etro

Pattern and print kingpin Etro took exactly that to the next level in Milan for their menswear offering this season. Uniting the usual bohemia regalia with new shapes that segued freely between chunky layers and suits with non-existent lapels towards a few licks of sporty leather, SS16 was a typically European and very stylish affair.

The energy of the prints can be owed heavily, as usual, to Etro’s strong links with the heritage Italian fashion has to boast. Like the country in questions contributions to gastronomy and the likes, bulky flavours are the ideal ingredients for success. This season however, Kean Etro, the heir apparent in creative control of the brand’s menswear sector , levelled their most common motifs out by incorporating sheeny metallic suits into the mix.

While some of these efforts weren’t strictly just like mama used to make (or probably father), they represented an interesting way of looking at Etro in a chic new light. When it comes to the quality of it all, it’s simply so unmistakable that you can’t find fault it in however. All one can say is that this time around Etro have created yet another bella collection, inside and out.
