Milan Menswear SS15: Gucci

The model Gucci mod was back at it again in Milan this season. However, this mod was seabound and seriously stylish to boot. There have been many a reference to the seven seas in Milan recently, some hits, some misses and Gucci certainly qualifies as a hit, creative director Frida Gianni made sure of that. Aesthetically pleasing are two words that come to mind instantly, with Gianni’s masterful use of colours and cuts she covered lots of ground, or should that be nautical miles, ranking her Gucci serving officers with a variety of clothing articles.

White and the most naval of navy blues striped horizontally and vertically had all the authority, giving way to deeply pigmented flashes of official conservative red, all contributing to the majority of semi-formal outfits that could easily be carried through day and night on a long weekend sojourn. It was all very safe though, even the paint squalid jeans modelled on stowaway duds, complete with Gucci’s horse-bit loafer in crocodile of course, had a well-defined Gucci appeal.

Now, if only we could get a closer look at all of the fine militaristic details.
