MFW AW14: Missoni

Autumn colours with shards of blue and green created this outdoorsy escapade. The pieces on show in Missoni’s AW14 collection were all variations of knitwear with some use of tweed mixed throughout. It appeared the models were about to set out on an urban wilderness adventure geared up in mod attire including some rugged accessories included ankles boots, hunter-type hats, driving gloves and white thermal leggings.

Angela Missoni, the creative director of Missoni, presented at the end of the show with a simple smile for her audience wearing a knee-length jacket in a matching blue presented in her line. Catwalk looks included knit vests, dresses, hooded shirts and sweaters, paired with knit skirts, some with high slits lined with an accent colour or baggy trousers with large cargo pockets.

The models held determined looks on their face with strongly defined eyes, natural skin and a neutral lip with messy buns to produce a “disheveled” appearance.  Patchwork designs, scatter shapes that resembled a broken-glass effect predominated as well. For this collection from the House of Missoni clothes were casual, loose fitting yet stylishly comfortable.
