Launched in 2016 the Loewe Craft Prize was specifically crafted to showcase and celebrate merit in modern craftsmanship. At Loewe craft is at its very essence. Jonathan Anderson stated at the award’s inception, “As a house, we are about craft in the purest sense of the word. That is where our modernity lies, and it will always be relevant.” Anderson noted his inspiration as Loewe’s beginnings as a craft cooperation in 1846.
