70s bouffant hair, conical hats with bamboo accessories and retro safari looks are early standouts, blurring the lines that separate the western explorer and the Asian native.

The earth tones of the early pieces are carried throughout the collection, but later become subverted as part of deconstructed trenches: half classic khaki, half Hi-Vis neon orange.

Heavily reworked trousers, cut with white leather and featuring doubled waistbands catch the eye, before focus is drawn to ambitious ornamental bamboo pieces that wrap around the torso—like conical hats come to life.

Some of the best pieces, however, take a subtler approach. A summer suit silhouette executed with incredibly light, transparent fabric is a genius revision.

Equally, Feng Chen Wang’s straight cut blue jeans adorned with lithograph style illustrations of rural China have the look of a future grail purchase for street wear devotees.
