LFW SS15: Hunter Original

In a show held by the side of a swimming pool in West London, Hunter Original SS15 created a unique spectacle. Developing this aquatic theme, hints of chlorine hues were blended with a digital projection by the visual artist Mat Mailand featuring submarines, Brighton Pier, ice cream cones and waves which immersed the audience into a sea world which celebrated the British summer. Another source of inspiration for the creative director, Alasdhair Willis was WW1 at sea.

To commence, the show incorporated olive-green garments while later on the colour spectrum expanded to blue, lilac, black-and-white. The prevailing piece of the collection was evidently the anoraks in a wide range of colours accessorised by Hunter wellies, rubber platforms, opaque clutches and aquamarine PVC duffle bags. On the catwalk, we saw ready-to-wear shorts, geometric dresses, boxy shirts, jackets with pops of transparent anorak and prints inspired by Dazzle, a technique used in World War to make the object invisible to the enemy, which makes the wearer more visible through optical illusions and distortions.

After its initiation into the fashion world last season, Hunter Original SS15 as an evolution of Hunter boots, proved again that can effectively combine functionality with beauty and innovation.
