LFW AW15: Pringle of Scotland

Endless ropes of the chicest chunky vs sleek monochromatic knitwear became the focal point at Pringle of Scotland‘s bicentennial spectacular this season. The on-trend variations paced through the Serpentine’s Sackler Gallery with signature Scottish resolution, with head designer Massimo Nicosia keeping it all fairly understated in it’s wooly finery.

Textile fans of the more untreated and raw will appreciated the more bucolic yet rather arid ensembles though there was indeed no shortage of more decorative numbers too. You could hear the knit bead pieces coming from a mile off which kicked most of the excitement off and some droopy florals garnered equal interest beyond just the nicely crafted handiwork.

Nicosia’s cable knit sweaters included slithers of mink, tied up with long thin scarfs, maintaining as the top creative dog that this is a brand that looks forward limitlessly with timelessness at their core.

That being said, no real risks were taken but it’s not really like Pringle are obliged to at this point, the natural vitality of the bashful hues which made each piece its own resulted in a sensibly put together landmark collection and a very hearty one at that. 200 years down the line and Pringle have fashioned a masterclass in remaining entirely relevant as the years sweep by.
