LC:M AW15 – Tiger of Sweden

Amping it up for LC:M’s final few hours, Tiger of Sweden kept the energy going with a show of brute fashion force. Harking back to the days of industry gone awry (think Britain’s fuel crisis of the seventies) the brand drew on protests, lost generations and brutalism. Empire State Human by the Human League, which found its way amid the soundtrack, said it all and in no time at all Tiger made the suit the centre of the collection. Sharp, chiselled and metallic, the Scandinavian menswear giants went all Kraftwerk on us with elongated cuts, high waists and quirks including bomber jackets worn nonchalantly over taut tailored suits.

The serious macho, macho man was out and proud for AW15, which has been something of a rarity this season in the big smoke, lacquered in key leather pieces that sifted between the athletic and the formal sublimely and thankfully didn’t drown out the more quiet classic ensembles that did their bit very well.

But onwards and upwards, it was with the radical and as such Tiger opted to decorate the majority of their formalwear with a circuit board motif which, in its varied forms, offered a recognisability that is a smart move for the brand. Altogether, this was the kind of menswear that is unquestionable in its appeal, so there is nothing else to do but embrace it fully.
