Kaia Gerber poses for Chanel Spring handbag campaign

THE new SS18 handbag collection from Chanel features Kaia Gerber in black and white photographs. In her first campaign for the French fashion house, Gerber received an invitation to Paris from Karl Lagerfeld, where she posed in the apartment of Coco Chanel.  A space flooded with fashion history and personal items of the Mademoiselle, she lies gracefully across a sofa, immersed in the plumped cushions. The sofa is the same one seen in pictures of Gabrielle Chanel with her nearest and dearest. The memory of her forever living on, reinforcing generation after generation the timelessness of fashion.

The new collection is comprised of three styles: The 11.12, the Gabrielle and the Boy. The 11.12 comes in tweed – an essential and practical accessory to every arm. Transparent PVC with the ultimate shine comes in spring pastels pink, blue, yellow and green. We can already feel the sunshine. The Gabrielle features a versatile strap for endless style – an exciting new edition to the Chanel handbag world. The Boy is both masculine and feminine and inspired by Gabrielle Chanel’s own personal influences from menswear.

The handbags offer diversity without losing the distinctive character of the beloved Chanel bag. A style that is never unrecognised nor forgotten. The collection epitomises women’s history, rendering fashion an ongoing story.
