JW Anderson announces release of print and digital fanzine

VISIONARY behind the brands JW Anderson and Loewe, Jonathan Anderson never ceases to amaze with how far his creative ideas go. Having already experimented with workshops and exhibitions, Northern Irish designer is now going into fashion journalism territory by introducing a new series of print and digital fanzines, JWA_ZINE.

The fanzines feature the photography of Daniel Rampulla, who previously took part in the JW Anderson Your Picture / Our Future competition and was later featured in the eponymous fashion book of the designer. The first fanzine of the series depicts personal moments in the lives of the male models, all styled in JW Anderson AW19 collection, and captures them through a queer lens, thereby evoking a sense of liberation, intimacy, and freedom.

The print version of the fanzines, or ‘zines, will be distributed in a limited amount through an online raffle on JW Anderson website. Winners will be selected at random and will be contacted by the JW Anderson team to confirm the shipment details. Digital edition will also be available for download at a later date.

Jonathan Anderson is a Northern Irish designer and the creative director behind the Spanish luxury brand Loewe and his own brand JW Anderson, which he established earlier in 2008. Anderson is known for his unique interpretation of gender, as he often experiments by cross-pollinating between menswear and womenswear lines. In addition to creative direction and design, in 2017 Anderson curated the Disobedient Bodies exhibition, where he collected over a hundred examples of art, fashion, and design from the past two centuries. Additionally, Anderson previously launched a series of workshops in London’s Shoreditch area, where he merged the shopping experience with exhibitions.
