Jimmy Choo and TimberlandĀ reveal their latest exclusive collaboration

THE ICONIC Timberland yellow boot was first introduced in 1973, equipping New York’s labourers with high-grade protection in their workspace and since then it has become a must-have for creators like rappers, hip-hop artists, and, certainly, true trademark accessorises for hipsters, making it the epitome of footwear in one of the most populated cities in America.

Inspired by the metropolis, Jimmy Choo’s creative director Sandra Choi teamed up with Timberland once again to reveal a special capsule that reimagines the iconic boot through a glamorous lens.

Nevertheless, bringing a layer of dimension to an already iconic reunion, the collaborator’s also reached out to Harlem’s Fashion Row, a New York City agency that facilitates opportunities for up-and-coming Black and Latin artists, which is how they were acquainted with New York-born designer Shanel Campbell.

Together with Jimmy Choo, they fused Campbell’s insightful perspective on Black Experience in America with Jimmy Choo’s signature style of “daring and confident glamour”, culminating in a radical reimagining of a cult classic and a celebration of New York’s creative essence.

“Shanel infused the collection with her authentic New York creative lens, a true New Yorker living and breathing the heartbeat of this vibrant city. I love to mix it up by getting together with interesting creative minds, combining our DNA to create beautiful and surprising pieces”, says Sandra Choi.

Offering seven styles for both genders, the release showcases hot pink velvet boots complemented with transparent soles, classic nubuck boots adorned with a graffiti-inspired Jimmy Choo logo script, a black boot with a Swarovski crystal-embellished collar, and a thigh-high black leather harness boot that has dual styling function, allowing it to effortlessly transform into a classic 6-inch silhouette. A notable edition comes with a heeled version of the iconic TimberlandĀ® 6-inch boot entirely embellished in Swarovski crystals.
