“From my very first conversation with Said, I felt a special connection with Catherine Walker & Co and we explored together how to create a piece that represents a little of what we both stand for: excellence in craft – and our personalities: discrete and passionately committed to all things of beauty. The butterfly is an icon for Catherine Walker & Co – integral to its brand identity and using rubies was an obvious choice, given the House is celebrating 40 years,” said Massimo Gismondi, the current CEO of the company.

Said Cyrus added, “I was delighted when Gismondi1754 approached me and it has been such a honour to have Massimo personally design the piece. The butterfly is a motif I chose a while ago for Catherine Walker & Co as it felt like a fitting representation of what we do, embracing elegance and grace. There is also a delicacy and fragility to a butterfly’s movements which, on a more personal level, reminds me of my late wife.”
