Haute Couture AW20: Elie Saab

IN THE midst of challenges brought on by lockdowns and the current pandemic, Elie Saab was among the ample curation of couture houses to share digital footage comprising insight into his upcoming collection. Having successfully innovated and re-imagined his approach to couture week this season, the Lebanese fashion designer has every intention of revealing the collection in September, with a 90-second film to occupy and tantalise in the short-term.

Entitled The Sound of the Sacred Source, the video showcases flickers of hand-embroidered beadwork and meticulously-detailed sketches juxtaposed against the exquisite scenes of nature. Paying homage to the brand’s ongoing affinity to femininity and nature, flurries of fabric and pulsating colours intertwine with the buzzing of insects and the splashing of rain drops to create an oasis of beauty, elegance and grace.

From lavish gowns to intricate and romantic dresses, the recurring elements of quintessential Elie Saab continues to evoke excitement and fantasy – September cannot arrive soon enough.
