Gucci’s pre-fall campaign 2019 meets antiquity

ONCE again, Gucci‘s Creative Director Alessandro Michele has put emphasis onto the antique worlds. Back in ancient Greek times, people would gather after banquets to sing, dance and listen to poetry recitals. Portrayed within the temples and ruins of the ancient Greek city Selinunte Archaeological Park located in beautiful Sicily, Gucci reignites this spirit of the classical symposium for the upcoming pre-fall 2019 campaign.

To give it a modern twist, Alessandro Michele brings a diverse troupe of countercultural groups to the temples to discuss philosophical and political issues, read poems, play sport and dance together. Showcasing hardcore punks, roller bladders, bodybuilders and surfers, Michele has conceived a method of cultural exposition and a surreal and contemporary tableau vivant that gives a fresh look on the antiquity gathering.
