SITUATED in the beating heart of the city on Avenue de l’Opéra in Paris’s 1st arrondissement, the newly opened, Nolinski Le Restaurant, boasts contemporary Parisian elegance with ceiling to floor mirrors, glossy marble surfaces and a modern twist on French cuisine. The latest project by luxury hotel collective, EVOK, the restaurant is located on the ground floor of the Nolinski hotel – one of EVOK’s four pre-existing luxury hotels in the city.

Think Art Deco meets the 1970s, the interior of the resturant – by British designer John Whelan – works in harmony with the buildings 1930s façade, brought to life with accents of 70s spirit. Soft lighting and a tonal muted palette, form the backdrop to the restaurant’s wooden clad cocktail bar and plush velvet seating. “To create a warm atmosphere, I used mirrors as wall coverings, because they reflect both the natural light in the room and the paintings with a velvety golden sheen” says Whelan.

Nestled in between The Louvre and the Opera Garnier, the restaurant makes the ideal spot for pre-opera supper or lunch after a morning of indulging in the Arts. Offering a unique and contemporary take on French cuisine, Chef Philip Chronopoulos delivers a meticulously curated menu.

“The worlds of raw food, spices, and the sea – cuisine that will never be boring,” the chef outlines. Already appointed as Chef at the neighbouring Michelin-starred Restaurant du Palais Royal, this is an exciting new venture for the 33-year-old tastemaker.
