Glass previews The St. Regis Hong Kong

THE St. Regis Hong Kong, the first of its kind on the island, has officially opened its doors and promises to offer guests a truly unique stay. Located in the bustling Wan Chai district – a hub of culture and commerce – The St. Regis Hong Kong represents an escape to serenity as you ascend to it’s 28 storeys. Those staying in deluxe rooms will feel as if level with the iconic Victoria Peak, which towers imperiously over the city’s populace.

Internationally renowned interior designer, André Fu, was tasked with developing aesthetic themes, and has created a space that truly speaks to Hong Kong’s ageless elegance, and rich cultural influences. The 129 rooms have been described as residentially inspired, like a curated mansion. The heated swimming pool, poolside bar, health club and spa further fuel the feeling that The St. Regis Hong Kong is essentially a city retreat within a city. To cement the impression that this is a seriously five star experience, all guests are granted access to the St Regis Butler Service.

With the opening of the hotel also come with introduction of two exceptional on site restaurants. L’Envol, headed by chef Oliver Elzer, provides guests with the opportunity to indulge in authentic French Haute cuisine, with dishes developed by a man worthy of 18 Michelin stars. Alternatively, for something closer to home, Rùn is the hotel’s signature Cantonese restaurant. Behind the menu is Hung Chi-Kwong, formerly of Man Wah and the winner of the Silver Award at the 2012 Best of the Best Culinary Awards.

For post dinner drinks, The St. Regis Bar has everything you cold ask for in a late night location. Over 800 wine labels and 100 champagnes fill a considerable menu, however the highlight is undoubtedly the signature St. Regis cocktail, the Canto Mary. A twist on the traditional Bloody Mary, this local interpretation features a collection of Cantonese ingredients, such as five spice, dried tangerine peel and Kowloon soy sauce. Live nightly jazz completes the experience.
