Glass previews an international cocktail takeover at The Coral Room and The Bloomsbury Club

THE CORAL Room and The Bloomsbury Club, of The Bloomsbury Hotel, will be transformed this Friday, when two of the world’s most buzzed-about bars takeover, in collaboration with Mancino Vermouth for The World’s 50 Best Bars.

In The Coral Room, already one of London’s most instagrammable spots, Paradiso will be taking the reigns. Paradiso has developed a reputation as one of Barcelona’s most coveted drinking holes, keeping a low local profile (hidden behind a refrigerator door) while drawing international attention – it’s currently ranked at number 37 amongst the world’s best bars.

It’s an era-bending speakeasy characterised by its creative interplay between 21-century design, and prohibition-era style. It’s also home to some of the world’s most inventive cocktail glasses – think gorillas heads and Dickensian tobacco pipes. Paradiso’s award-winning mixologist, Giacomo Gianotti, will bring four award-winning cocktails to the capital for a night that’s not to be missed.

At The Bloomsbury Hotel’s other bar, The Bloomsbury Club, Hong Kong monument to the inimitable work of Ernest Hemingway, The Old Man, will be at the helm for the night. Belying the obvious flapper connotations of its name (taken from Hemingway’s short story, The Old Man and the Sea), The Old Man rose to the pinnacle of the Asian bar scene due to its innovative drinks and revolutionary approach to the art of mixology.

Speaking on the collaboration, The Coral Room’s General Manager, Giovanni Spezziga, added, “I am delighted to be welcoming both of these amazing bars to The Bloomsbury. Both are so well-renowned and it will be an absolute pleasure to play them at The Coral Room and The Bloomsbury Club. This is set to be an amazing night and I can’t want to spend an evening behind the bar with the teams from Paradiso and The Old Man.”

With live music from 6-9 and the option for attendees to flit from one bar to the other, this is a unique opportunity to sample the work of two of the planets finest bars, without having to travel from Spain to Hong Kong.
