Glass presents the Dappe Comb

IDEALLY the perfect product balances luxury and practicality, however when sustainability is put into this combination then it becomes a modern must-have item. This is exactly what 3rd Diadem has done. Presenting the Dappe Comb, a product that is essential to our daily routines and crafted by hand using recycled paper composite – both aesthetically pleasing and is made to stand the test of time.

Described as someone with an “obsessive attention to detail”, well-known hairstylist Gow Tanaka took inspiration from Japan’s traditional talent of crafting by hand while simultaneously focusing on applying the principles that he has learnt hairstyling over the past 30 years into creating this product.

The functionality of the product stems from the now-foreign trend of carrying your comb in the back pocket of your trousers. The trend that rose to popularity in the 1950s through the slick-back hair, leather jacket and slim-fitting trouser look, think John Travolta as Danny Zuko in the 1978 film Grease, has made a return due to the rise of men’s fashion.

The comb is no new product, it is one of our oldest tools having been around for over 5,000 years, however it has been updated now coming in two forms; both available in five different colours.

Dappe Comb – Model B and Model A

The Dappe Comb Model A is designed for textured afro hair with long teeth made for brushing through tight curls whilst still offering support through its smoothness. For those who wish to wear the comb in the hair rather than tucked into your pocket, the space between the teeth offer grip to ensure you can style it how you wish.

The Dappe Comb Model B has two sides, one with small closely spaced together teeth made for precision grooming, whilst the opposite side has longer teeth that is designed to use for facial hair.

The Dappe Comb

Not only is this product man’s next best friend, it doubles up as a pocket square revolutionising your grooming experience as well as becoming a subtle yet elegant fashion accessory.
