Glass presents the Alexander McQueen Tread Slick boot shot around the world

WALKING has become a favourite past time for a lot of us in the new normal. The only opportunity to get fresh air and a daily dose of vitamin D, we’ve found salvation in our parks, fields and paths. A chance to get dressed up – or dressed at all – our walks are the new social(-ly distanced) event.

Right now, we are in need of shoes that are robust enough to handle potentially more than one long walk a day, whilst steering clear of clumsy hiking boots. Look no further than the McQueen Tread Slick Boot.

A reincarnation of McQueen’s AW19 leather Tread Boot, The Tread Slick features an oversized rubber sole and lighter canvas upper. Designed with the warmer months in mind they come in a variety of colour ways and in a low or high top style. From khaki to baby pink, the Slicks are the perfect throw on shoe to wear on your socially distanced walks – paired with shorts or the summer dresses that no longer reside in the back of your wardrobe.

To get a feel for the Tread Slicks in their natural environment, The McQueen team have commissioned a series of photographers from around the world to capture their boots in situ. Working with longstanding collaborators and shooting in locations from Peckham to Hong Kong, the series unites fellow Tread Slick wearing, walk lovers globally.
