AFTER the success for his debut collection for Burberry in September, Riccardo Tisci reveals the AW19 Pre-collection for men and women. Tisci says, “I wanted this collection to be a continuation of the story I began to tell in September”, further developing the house themes and continuing his introduction of a new set of codes, such as the Thomas Burberry Monogram. The collection is filled with juxtapositions taking apart the woman and girl, man and boy, while simultaneously evolving the eveningwear sector from the a more contemporary stance.
Tisci explains, “I’m focusing on establishing our codes through archive prints, house colours and iconic outerwear, while cementing the new themes I set out last season” – referencing archival prints in the clothes.
