Glass gets our glow on with Guerlain’s new Terracotta selections

AS THE summer months are just around the corner, it is time to enhance your natural radiance. So I was delighted to test the latest products from Guerlain’s Terracotta collection, who are masters at creating superb bronzers and highlighters which is especially helpful if you aren’t blessed with a natural one (like me). I have combination early-20s skin that tends to become drier throughout the day.

Stick Foundation, Terracotta skin

The first product of the terracotta collection I explored was the Stick Foundation. Packaged in a handy tube that you can twist the product from, the waterproof stick foundation is very convenient to directly apply on your face and neck. Using a beauty blender, or a sponge is the most efficient way to blend out the product all over your face after applying it. This results in a much smoother finish and cleaner canvas to apply the next products.

For those who have a combination skin type, the creamy texture offers immediate lightweight coverage also giving your face velvety appearance for more than 12 hours. I later noticed that the stick also works well as a concealer if you gently apply it on your eye bags and smoothly blending it out with your fingers.

Likewise, the cream highlighter, which comprises highlighter and blush in one, gives you a beautifully rosy sheen. To brighten up your appearance in a second, I apply the stick on to the prominent areas of my face such as the cheekbones, bridge of the nose, cupid’s bow and the top of the brow bone. This lovely product goes on really smoothly. Here again, using your fingers to blend it out, revealing a natural blush on the cheeks which also lasts the whole day. terracotta guerlain

On the Go Loose Powder, Terracotta touch

If you are after a less heavy glow yet a luminous finish, the silky Terracotta touch is a perfect alternative. Use it to softly powder your cheekbones, as well as the nose bridge which also gives a nice highlight. It is the perfect partner for a velvety matte base and also gives a flawless golden result.

Palette, Terracotta contour and glow

The limited edition Terracotta contour and glow palette comprises four colours  By applying the contour shade alongside the satiny bronzer shade, with a fine contouring brush, the result is a matte finish which also made my face shape beautifully defined. Using both in one, the rosy blush and the pearly highlighter delivers an extra refreshing touch of glow.

Using the Guerlain Terracotta collection on a daily basis has given me no little joy and boosted my self-confidence as I have tried many liquid foundations that either don’t last for very long or don’t deliver a natural result. When I was testing the stick foundation, I was able to stop worrying about it disappearing or wearing off during the day. I loved its “no foundation” effect.

The bronzer and blush products also have helped to enhance my features too with a sun-kissed natural glow. The fact that the collection is scented with notes of orange blossom and tiaré flower complements is another pleasurable dimension to this lovely range.

Packaged in convenient sizes, the products fit perfectly in your bag too.
