Glass enjoys a food and art pairing experience launching at Colonel Saab, Holborn, London

LOCATED in the heart of Holborn in a former Town Hall building, Colonel Saab offers a luxury modern Indian dining experience. Known for their amazing and unconventional approach to the cuisine, this May, Colonel Saab’s founder, Roop Partap Choudhary, launches Food and Art Pairing Experience.

A multi-sensory evening which comprises of discovering most amazing dishes and spins of the traditional flavours as well as  having a look into an exclusive art collection.

The nine-course tasting menu will include dishes like Pulled Charcoal Lamb with Jeera Aloo and Biryani, absolutely delicious Mini Dhokla Sandwich, Andhra-style Eggplant Curry or Thandai Crumble.

All plates have been created through retracing Roop’s father’s steps during his travels in India, and are an ode to the places he has visited and the people he has met.

Together with his team, Roop prepared a special selection of plates, which are appearing in London for the first time.

The guests will be able to see a selection of 17th and 19th Century Tanjore Paintings, handwoven Persian carpets, pure silver Gujarat temple doors and a canopy of ornate chandeliers from Firozabad. But it’s not only the Art and artefacts which will draw the eye.

As Colonel Saab is a place created with passion and love for Roop’s family, the guests have a possibility of having a peak into the Roop’s family history told through the photographs placed all around the rooms of the restaurant.

The experience will also include a selection of special cocktails created to compliment the food and enhance your visit. A Masala Dabba, which stores artisanal gins, whiskies and rums all made out of Indian botanicals have been prepared to become a base of the drinks, all named after Choudhary’s family members.
