Glass dines out at The Dorchester Rooftop

I AM sitting in a toasty corner beside a heater on the rooftop of the iconic Dorchester, one of London’s best-loved hotels, which celebrated its 90th birthday this April with the opening of its first-ever rooftop dining experience.

The Dorchester Rooftop welcomes guests from noon until late, with a casual lounge area for snacks, cocktails, or a glass of iced champagne, while a lively band sets the swanky scene creating a relaxing escape from the heart of the city.

The Rooftop will play host to a series of al-fresco culinary pop-ups, commencing with the renowned and super- humble Tom Booton, Head Chef of The Grill at The Dorchester, leading the culinary proceedings with his British summertime menu, complemented with an equally impressive wine list.

Sharing plates all feature locally sourced produce, with his stand-out dishes including Waterloo cheese wrapped in pastry, poached cod with asparagus and courgettes, BBQ leeks with ricotta and salsa verde, and the Ribeye with mushrooms.

The Dorchester Rooftop

This grand dame of an establishment has hosted royalty, dignitaries, and celebrities since its revolving doors were first set in motion 90 years ago, but now for the first time they are offering guests a bird’s-eye view over Hyde Park – and rooftop dining has never been a more glamorous affair.

Stay tuned for further chef pop-ups at The Dorchester Rooftop soon to be announced.
