Fendi unveils new interiors design collection Roman Molds for Design Miami

FENDI by Silvia Venturini Fendi has created a new furniture collection titled Roman Molds. The designed collection features 10 new pieces, which were created specifically for the exterior of the luxury brand’s iconic headquarters in Rome, Palazzo della Civiltà Italiana, also known as the Square Colosseum. The collection will be based entirely at Palazzo della Civiltà Italiana and will be unveiled during the Design Miami event this December.

For its new design collection, Fendi has commissioned Zurich-based design studio Kueng Caputo, which drew inspiration entirely from Fendi’s iconic pieces, design techniques, and the brand’s headquarters. The arches of Palazzo della Civiltà Italiana became the unifying theme of the collection and are mimicked in almost every piece: from the long table resting on the upturned arches to the bright pink “bow” table with an arched base. The collection also features benches, stools, room dividers, and even a stylised palm tree, all crafted in either terracotta brick or Fendi’s iconic Selleria Roman leather.

The new collection truly represents the very DNA of Fendi – while every piece is lavishly innovative, minimalist, and even whimsical, its craftsmanship still showcases tradition and familiarity of the Fendi design. Its focus on the neoclassical elements of the Square Colosseum, which has been Fendi’s headquarters since 2015, allows the designers to put a new twist on existing Fendi designs in order to organically fit in with the building’s exterior.
