Fendi releases new Baguette fashion film with Kiernan Shipka and Christian Coppola

ITALIAN luxury house Fendi by Silvia Venturini Fendi has released a new chapter of its film series Baguette Friends Forever, starring actor Kiernan Shipka and her best friend director Christian Coppola. The film shows the couple of friends cruising around the Italian capital on a vespa while fashioning iconic Baguettes, which were successfully relaunched by Fendi in early 2019.

The #BaguetteFriendsForever series were introduced in the early 2019 together with the relaunch of the Baguette itself. Having already shot in Hong Kong with model Hikari Mori and in New York with Sarah Jessica Parker, who helped popularise the Baguette in the early 2000s, Fendi has now gone back to its roots in Rome, where the luxury house was founded in 1925.

Fendi’s new film is as much a celebration of Baguette friendship, as it is a celebration of cinema: while Shipka is known for her starring role in the Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, Coppola is related to one of the most well known filmmaking families in history. Together the pair explores Rome, eats Italian gelato, tosses a coin in the Trevi fountain, and finally visits Palazzo Della Civiltà Italiana, the current headquarters of Fendi. The plot becomes almost a reenactment of Audrey Hepburn’s Roman Holiday.

The pair has previously appeared together at the Fendi Fall 2019 Couture Collection in July 2019, which then ignited rumours on the nature of their relationship. However, with this new chapter of Fendi advertising films released, Shipka and Coppola have indeed proven that their relationship was, is, and always will be #BaguetteBestFriends.
