Fendi launches boutique on New Bond Street, London

The razzle-dazzle coated cherry on the top of the London party scene during the past week was certainly the launch of the new Fendi boutique on New Bond Street on Thursday evening. The soirée saw one of the most expensive retail strips in Europe light up with digital flash bulbs once an all-star cast began assembling within the store.

Creative director of Fendi, Karl Lagerfeld, who jetted in to celebrate and perform the rôle as the master of ceremonies, conducting the Dom Perignon clinks alongside his brand ambassador, Cara Delevingne. Hosted by Silvia Venturini Fendi and Pietro Beccari, who initiated the new Peekaboo bag charity project with Kids Company, the in-store cocktail and canapé refreshments were certainly a delight.

Especially while the world’s press browsed the store, previewing the customised Peekaboo bags and spotting guests ranging from models Naomi Campbell and Arizona Muse, to socialite Tallulah Harlech, and personal friends of the Fendi family, such as Nancy Dell’Olio, who revealed to Glass that, even for her, Fendi is “simply too chic”.  The night was then to remain young for the select few who attended the seated dinner prepared by Italian restaurant Assunta Madre at Sotheby’s, which mirrors the shiny new boutique.
