KIM JONES’ debut collection for Fendi created a seismic buzz across the industry as the British designer took his first step transitioning from menswear to womenswear, but more importantly it lay the foundation of what is to come.
Now, the designer is drawing on the codes of his SS21 couture collection and translating it into ready-to-wear, injecting a new sense of life into the clothes. Still balancing androgyny with the romanticism found in literature, key silhouettes will be available to buy for a strict two-week period with limited supplies of each piece.
Fendi Limited Edition Ready-to-Wear
The spring-summer 2021 couture collection was inspired by the Bloomsbury set and Virginia Woolf’s classic novel Orlando along with the designer looking at the history of the Roman grandeur.
Sharp tailoring, crisp cotton shirts, draped satin dresses and extravagant gowns emphasise the conventional codes of femininity and masculinity in a monochrome partnership.

In terms of accessories, ballerina slippers with Karligraphy beaded monograms are available for a more everyday shoe while knee-high satin boots are there for those who prefer a heel. Baroque pearl jewellery is recreated, similar to the couture pieces but this time are embedded with rhinestones and frozen in resin.
The Fendi Baguette and Peekaboo come with trimmed pearls or in a special Charleston House print, but these editions will be limited edition iterations.

Modelled by Bella Hadid and Lila Moss, the collection reflects the harmony that Jones discovered so elegantly in his debut show proving that even in a separated Europe, British creativity and Italian glamour are a match made in Fendi heaven.
