Dior Maison’s newest collection is an homage to the garden

THE LATEST homeware collection by Dior draws upon the late couturier’s passion for gardening and botany, the very name “La Colle Noir” acting as a love letter to the Monsieur Dior’s own chateau and former residence.

Even within the garments designed by the Maison since its founding, botany has been a recurring staple. The latest homeware collection continues this focus, and derives its inspiration from the gardens that surround the Chateau de la Colle Noire.

Dior Maison La Colle NoirePieces from the La Colle Noire collection

An overriding theme of herbarium, plates and tableware are decorated with delicate sketches of roses, lilacs, carnations, tulips, and Monsieur Dior’s favourite, lilies of the valley. The etchings almost provide a voyeuristic look into the notebook of a horticulturalist, and bring the freshness of the outdoors to the dining table.

The collection is continued with a series of coloured-glass candleholders, mouth blown decanters and hand-painted glasses, the delicate hues exuding a rustic and calming dialogue perhaps associated with ones own garden.
