Designer Nifemi Marcus-Bello wins Hublot Design Prize 2022

HUBLOT continues encouraging, guiding, and inspiring up-and-coming designers, and this year the brand welcomed selected finalists to The Serpentine Gallery’s Magazine café as they unveiled the winner of the seventh Hublot Design Prize. The mentorship program is open to young fashion innovators worldwide who strive for experimentation and innovation, incorporating new techniques and materials which also serve an environmental or societal objective.

Chosen from eight finalists, Nigerian industrial designer Nifemi Marcus-Bello had the privilege of being revealed as the winner of this year’s edition. Pierre Keller Award went to Maya Bird-Murphy and Connor Cook. On the judges panel were: Marva Griffin Wilshire, the creator and curator of SaloneSatellite; Hans Ulrich Obrist, the director of the Serpentine Galleries; Alice Rawsthorn, a design critic; and Samuel Ross, a former winner of the Hublot Design Prize and current partner of the brand.
