De Beers Group announce new ReSet Forever Love collection in collaboration with graduates from Central Saint Martins

THE SECOND collaboration in their ReSet series, De Beers Group has announced the launch of the ReSet Forever Love collection in partnership with recent graduates from Central Saint Martins.

Further asserting their commitment to sustainability and positive change, the one-of-a-kind collection incorporates rough and polished diamonds from De Beers Group, each sourced in line with the company’s ambitious Best Practice Principles and Building Forever goals, targeted at elevating quality-of-life for both people and the planet across its global business.

Kristina Ferenchuk

The three graduate designers – Kristina Ferenchuk, Ami Masamitsu and Louis Tamlyn – were hand-selected by De Beers Group for their creative craftsmanship and sustainable practices.

Tasked with creating jewellery that represented the concepts of Love and Forever in the 21st century, Ferenchuk designed an 18K white-gold necklace and ring, both with a polished diamond and rough diamond on either side that can be rotated. Inspired by the contrasts of human nature, the intricate pieces represent Ferenchuk’s belief that love is no longer an idealised perfection.

“I’ve always wanted to work more with diamonds, and this was a great opportunity to learn about the diamond industry,” said Ferenchuk. “It’s incredible to know that this collaboration will support the journey of a fellow young jewellery designer from a country where De Beers’ diamonds are found.”

Ami Masamitsu

For her piece, Masamitsu created an innovative ring that features an antique 18K gold engagement ring and a single polished diamond, suspended in clear acrylic. “To her, an antique engagement ring that has been passed down from generation to generation is not only an expression of past, present and future love, but also of sustainability by re-using materials that already exist in the world,” said De Beers Group.

Louis Tamlyn

Tamlyn, on the other hand, responded to the concepts by re-imagining the love heart motif. Inspired by a 14th-century manuscript where the classic symbol was first depicted, the designer crafted an enamelled necklace featuring two polished diamonds and an abstract heart-shaped silver brooch, set with rough diamonds.

“It was such fun to work with these highly talented jewellery design graduates from Central Saint Martins,” said Colby Shergalis, senior vice president for brand marketing at De Beers Group. “Through challenging themselves with questions such as whether forever is possible in a rapidly changing world, or whether sustainability is the ultimate expression of love to our communities and our planet, these three innovative designers have crafted an inspiring and thought-provoking collection featuring responsibly sourced diamonds from De Beers Group.”

To celebrate the launch of the ReSet Forever Love collection, the company has donated £10,000 towards the launch of a Provenance Award to support the development of a young jewellery designer in one of the company’s four producer partner countries – Botswana, Canada, Namibia and South Africa. The winner of the new award will be announced at the Shining Light Awards ceremony later this year, where the ReSet Forever Love collection will also debut.
