Chanel Couture SS 2014

Creative director Karl Lagerfeld chose a double stair-cased stage in a nightclub venue to showcase the spring/summer 2014 haute couture collection by Chanel.  The first and last model on the runway was  supermodel Cara Delevingne who first appeared in classic Chanel tweed shockingly paired with sporty trainers.

The colour theme was white and pastel-like mixed with silver metallic accents that oozed rock chick from outer space. Sharp cuts of quilted fabric were made innocent and playful when paired with sporty knee pads, fanny packs and matching white trainers. Throughout the collection, Lagerfeld accented distinct mid-section pieces bringing together each look with a statement theme. At the end of the show Karl expressed his great love for his angel “bride” Cara who held hands with his godson Hudson Kroenig while wearing a sheer bridal-like gown decorated with ostrich feathers.

Models wore slicked back ponytails and make-up consisted of a black cat-eye and lower lash-line crystals reflecting different hues of soft green, pink and blue. This was paired with nude lips, a strong brow and clean dewy skin.
