LAUNCHING not only a new fragrance but also the news of an ambassador, Burberry Beauty unveils Emma Mackey as the face of Burberry Goddess Eau de Parfum. The addition to the already extensive range sees a unique, aromatic fragrance for women arrive at the British brand.
Crafted by perfumer Amandine Clerc-Marie, the fragrance builds upon their continuous use of vanilla in their established scents. Blending a trio of vanillas that have been hand-foraged and then sun-dried for five to seven weeks, the product is finally left to mature in wood sealed boxes helping them produce a new aroma.
The fragrance comes together with notes of Lavender essence to add to its sweetness, and then given an earthy finish with strong hues of cocoa and ginger root. Finally, it is housed in Burberry’s first refillable bottle, designed with archival references and building on the long-standing history of the House.
Fronted by the English-French actress, best known for her role in Netflix’s Sex Education, Mackey was hand-picked as she embodies the same power and confidence as the scent.
Accompanied by a campaign that seeks to tell a story of self-discovery through mirroring a pride of lionesses, the video uses footage from the animal’s natural environment with the latest CGI technology to create a world where Mackey and the lions come together to create their own pride.
Speaking on her appointment and the campaign, she explains, “Fragrance has always been a great love of mine, and I am fascinated with the power that scent can have and the way it can immediately transport you to a specific time and place in your life. Being afforded the opportunity to become an ambassador for the new Burberry fragrance feels particularly special and personal.”
