Bangs x Pavement – the new Brow and Lash Bar in East London

CALLING out to all my fellow Eastenders – a new beauty spot has opened in the heart of Walthamstow. The sustainable and gender-neutral salon on Hoe Street, Bangs, has now opened its first brow and lash bar in the concept store Pavement, on Orford Road, a walk away from their salon.

It makes sense that a salon that has become renowned for crafting the best bangs in London has thought about how best to accentuate the craftsmanship. It’s a triple threat package that can see you finesse your brows, lashes and get a fringe cut all in one day.

As someone who has recently discovered a love of bleached brows, I opted for just the lashes and fringe combo, trying the LVL lash lift at the brow and lash bar before having my long lost fringe rejuvenated in a dry cut at Bangs. Paula, the beautician who worked her magic on my eyelashes, is all about enhancing, rather than overpowering, and was the ideal guide in helping me understand the kind of lift I needed to best frame my face.

I was a newbie to the treatment, so Paula’s reassurance and explanation of the hour long procedure was valuable. Laying back with my eyes closed for the entirety culminated in an incredibly gentle and soothing treatment and, I have to admit, when it was over I felt a sense of reluctance to get out of the chair.

Offering eyebrow and eyelash tinting, eyebrow waxing, brow lamination, volume lash extensions, as well as the eyelash lift, the new brow and lash bar is the ultimate hot spot for beauty treatment lovers. And it’s location, set within the Pavement store, serves as further enticement.

The finish was glorious, a subtle emphasis of the eye with the intense black hue, and a natural lift that echoed the immediate effect of an eye lash curler. I couldn’t help but flutter my eyelashes as I made my way to Bangs on Hoe Street. As aforementioned, Bangs is the hotspot for fringe cuts – it’s in the name after all – and within 15 minutes, I had my ’90s long fringe reinstated. I left the salon feeling like a new woman and kitted with tips and tricks on how to maintain my frizzy hair episodes and unruly fringe woes. Bang on.
