AW19: Edward Crutchley

EDWARD Crutchley kept it classy with his AW19 collection, making the transition from sportswear to elegant evening wear with classy designs for both men and women.

As a silky satin robe flowed along the runway, paired with some printed velvet harem trousers and a sexy black bustier, the tone was set for the fall collection. Elegant, luxurious yet sexy.

That was until some rather avant-garde accessories in the form of high top hats made an appearance, together with even higher heels and statement piece nose ring. Adding a dose of healthy drama to his collection with a sheer silver fringe shirt.

From drama the collection took a turn for a more animalistic side, starting off slowly with muted camel colours, transitioning into snakeskin and topping it off with some furry loafers.

What made his collection, and show, stand out however, was the humouristic undertone. Animals such as birds and snakes were embroidered on the jackets, yet when looking closer you could see it was the bird that was attacking the snake. Finishing the show on a comical note, the models had swapped their lacquer oxford shoes in for some crocodile or duck house slippers.

Relaxed, no-nonsense but with a wild side.
