If you grew up in the late 1970s or ‘80s then G-shock the popular watch brand of electronics manufacturer Casio, would have been your timepiece of choice. Sporting the inimitable design on your wrist, you were guaranteed to be on time for that Wham gig, video arcade rendezvous or appointment for a demi-wave with your hairdresser.
G-shock has rightly received cult status and with the timely opening of the Casio Concept Store in Covent Garden, London in 2012, watch aficionados and horological tech-heads can indulge in some retail therapy. The shop houses G-shock, Baby- G, Edifice, Pro Trek and Casio Sheen, aimed at the sophisticated woman. Sheen marries the unique technological styling of the brands heritage with premium and hard-wearing materials – think built-in LED lights and natty white ceramic bezels, encased in yellow gold – resulting in a selection of timepieces that are high-status yet simultaneously hard-wearing.
