PFW SS15: Kenzo

Today at a Parisian skate park, Kenzo presented its androgynous-futuristic SS15 show. Giant video installations with girly avatar figures talking in multiple languages about the luxury brand, depicted the “evolution of humanity”.

The tailored suits and hibernating pullovers and coats of his AW14 outing expanded to black juxtaposed with white fabrics, light blue laser cutting, trousers in loose volume, satin and prim structural suits with futuristic sunglasses and kitten heels, which pervaded on the catwalk. Kenzo’s sweaters and culottes made for a techie-sporty style enhanced by denim skirts, boot-cuts, jackets and square-cut shirts. But what really stole the show were the skirts, dresses, jumpsuits and capes fringed with broderie anglaisie and print patterns in baby pink with semi-transparent below the knees hems offering a sense of playful femininity.

Rich in textural variety with crisp and clean colour palette, Kenzo’s SS15 show was a flourish of translucent shapes and an optimistic look at the future.
