Paris Menswear AW15: Kenzo

Offering up something that is so unmistakably Kenzo, Carol Lim and Humberto Leon have stuck to the style choices that have made the brand flourish under their direction. Toying with the same curiosity for utility made funky, as is usual for the duo, AW15 is a sure-fire addition to a strong consumer-appeal campaign.

Layering the majority of their latest looks for a more divergent silhouette this time around, Kenzo have put an emphasis on boxier cuts and contrasted this with the ill-fitting. Formatted in blazing acid brights accompanied by metallics at some points or instead just pared down with a simple knitted jumper, Lim and Leon have produced an exercise in how far one singular look can be pushed in relation to the next.

Each look came with an adolescent naiveté that will no doubt appease diehard fans of the brand and the trendy creative force behind the power, Opening Ceremony. Simply look to the ludicrously oversized sleeves of engorged sweaters, lofty stitches and some of the other jocundity if you want to know more.

Overall however, a collection like this really doesn’t do anyone any harm and it’s great to once again see that Lim and Leon have a lot of creativity to lavish upon their designs and still approach each season with something fresh.
