HomeFashionNYFW SS19: Marc Jacobs Imogen Clark September 14, 2018 Fashion, Fashion Shows, News NEW YORK fashion week finished for another season, ending on a high with Marc Jacobs. After the audience waited 90 minutes in their seats, they were swept off their feet by Jacobs’ ‘60s, and lightly ‘90s inspired collection. Pastels were mixed amongst a sea of bright block colours creating an infused cocktail of femininity. Netted veils covered some of the models’ faces, while others had boater hats perched on their head and Queen Elizabeth style headscarves were adorned by few. Keeping in line with his AW18 collection, the oversized tailored suits with wide-legged, loose-fitting trousers make a return – but this season with sheer. Two-piece outfits and bouncy mini dresses were lightly decorated with marabou feathers, while tapered trousers in pink were accompanied with frilled tops. Trench coats were belted at the waist, juxtaposed with sequinned trousers in salmon pink, open weaved gloves and glittery socks and tights. Jacobs found the perfect balance between the different fun elements weaved into his collection and sophistication – the marriage of the two were not dated, but rather he created an overall template of an empowered woman. by Imogen Clark Leave a Reply Cancel ReplyYou must be logged in to post a comment.
