NYFW SS15: J. Crew

Creative Director Jenna Lyons kept J. Crew’s SS15 collection in line with what it is that makes us love J. Crew in the first place — that boyish, yet utterly womanly, professional-meets-playtime, “casual chic” style. Bermuda style boy shorts, pajama-comfortable work wear and hyper casual suits, a mix-match of cuffed cuffs, drawn drawstrings, and dogeared collars, bell-shaped outerwear, loose hanging blazers and clean cut shirt dresses were all present for the collection’s presentation.

Sparks and sizzles and splashes of golden, yellow and marigold interplayed alongside tamer white, camel, and elephant blue-grays. The denim trousers were especially on point (as is typical), with ankle-dusting wide-legged boyfriend wash jeans; patchwork, drop waist jeans with hidden buttons; and light wash workday denim, maturely pleated and hip-hitting.
