Name: Kirby Akindeinde
Agency: W Model Management
Age: 23

How did you become a model?
A friend tagged me in a casting call on Instagram, which ended up being a casting for a New Balance TV Commercial. I was lucky enough to get the job and it kind of went from there.

Who is your favourite designer?
It’s a tough one between Alexander Wang and Ashish. Neither fail to impress each season! I’m very much a sports luxe kind of girl – you’ll usually catch me in ASOS, anything black or grey and my Y3 trainers.

What do you wear on your days off?
The same thing that I wear on my days on! Trainers, sports leggings and bralette and a slouchy tee with my tassel leather jacket. If I’m bored of my sportswear, I’ll wear over-the-knee boots with black jeans.

What book, movie or song means the most to you?
There’s so many but one is definitely The Pursuit of Happyness. I can barely watch it because it makes me cry so much, but I think that the meaning behind it is incredible and it’s based on a true story. If this can’t motivate you to keep your head up no matter what the circumstance, then I don’t know what can …

Who are your heroes in life?
My parents. If I didn’t say them, I’d be taking for granted everything that they’ve ever done for me.

What is your present state of mind?
I’ve been through a lot of change recently, but among the unknown I’m enjoying now and looking forward to whatever lies ahead!

What is your idea of happiness?
Good health, love (for ourselves and others) and an enjoyable career. Additionally, you can’t go wrong with cocktails and the sun.

How would you like to be perceived by others?
As a genuinely kind person with a lot of drive.

If you were not a model, what would you be?
Well, I already have a fitness blog, Tigeress Lifestyle, and YouTube channel (search Kirby Anne) so I’d take to them full time! I’m also currently training to be a personal trainer, so I’d be a PT too. I guess I’d do exactly what I’m doing, just without the modelling.

What advice do you have for other models?
Keep at it and keep smiling. It’s a tough industry and very competitive, but with patience, determination and a thick skin, you’ll soon be where you want to be!
